Land Monitor provides mid-scale monitoring of salinity and vegetation across Western Australia. A range of derived products are available to determine and view extent and change across the State.
The project commenced in 1998 with the main aim being to systematically monitor salt-affected land and remnant vegetation change over the agricultural area of southwest of Western Australia. From 2002, the project expanded to deliver a suite of products across the State.
With the intent of improving access to location information, access to data will no longer be confined to partner agencies. Registered public sector and other approved users can discover Land Monitor datasets in Data WA under Groups and access them in Pawsey.
The success of the project is due to the expertise of the Data 61 team at the CSIRO, and the collaborative efforts of the partner agencies:
In addition, an improved open access visualisation tool is now available. All users can visualise Land Monitor products via Locate.
